PRESS RELEASE
The Franklin County Sheriff's Office has had a vest donated for our K9 officer Billow. Billow is currently assigned to Deputy Larry Moore and has been in service to Franklin County since January of 2020. Billow is trained to detect narcotics and is certified as a bite dog.
The vest was donated, at a cost of $1357.00, by Brady's K9 Fund located in Strongsville, Ohio. Brady's K9 Fund is a non-profit organization whose mission is to donate as many police K9 vests as possible. To date they have provided vests to 472 K9 officers.
The vest is designed by Line of Fire Defense Systems Ltd. In Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It is designed to be worn for a K9's entire shift. It protects the K9 officer's major organs, helps prevent heat exhaustion and allows the K9 to retain full agility. The K9 Streetfighter vest is used by law enforcement and special forces K9 teams globally.
Donations may be made to Brady's K9 Fund at bradysk9fund@gmail.com.
